Voting in the August 23rd Democratic Primary

July 29th
Last Day to Register to Vote
July 29th is the final day to register to vote in person at a Board of Elections office. Mail-in applications cannot be postmarked any later than July 29th–and must be received by the BOE by August 3rd at the latest.

August 8th
Last Day to Apply for an Absentee Ballot Online or By Mail
The Board of Elections will not accept any absentee ballot applications received online or via mail later than August 8th. You can apply for an absentee ballot in person at a BOE office until August 22nd.

August 13th
Early Voting Begins
You can begin voting early in person on Saturday, August 13th. Early voting lasts until August 21st. Important note: your early voting polling place and your Election Day polling place might not be the same location. Be sure to verify before heading out to cast your ballot.
Find your early voting location here (while the BOE has not yet announced early vote polling locations for the August 23rd primary, it is anticipated that they will be the same as June primary early vote locations).

Absentee Ballot Application Deadline [In-Person]
This is the final day where you can apply for an absentee ballot in person. Reminder: the deadline to apply to vote absentee by mail or via the BOE’s online portal is August 8th.
August 23rd
Election Day
The big day! Vote in person at your Election Day polling location any time from 6 AM to 9 PM. Absentee ballots can be returned in person at a BOE office or your polling location; those returned by mail must be postmarked by August 23rd at the latest.
